After making and releasing music for a couple of years on various labels, I decided to launch my own Remute-label in 2008. „Zuendli“ was the first release and sold out like crazy after being played by Djs like Richie Hawtin or Laurent Garnier. That was pretty amazing for me – before that the tune got turned down by dozens of A&Rs. „Too noisy“, „too long“, „too short“. Well, they were all wrong and „Zuendli“ was my first real smash hit. Being independent is fun. Just do it!

2.)
Sad Little Inhuman Thing
„Sad Little Inhuman Thing“ is taken from my second 12“-vinyl „Inhuman Things“ which was released in 2003 by the fine Cologne-based label „Areal“. Thoroughly nice and passionate people which discovered my music via the web and contacted me. It felt so good for the 19-year old Remute to get in touch with like-minded music-lovers with a true vision and uncompromising art-style.

3.)
Dressed For Success (1983 Version)
„Dressed For Success“ was only available on the Limited CD Edition of my 2011 album „Cowbell Mania“ and still became quite a club hit in the UK. This song was my first foray into Synthwave-areas and encouraged me to be more melodic and funky. There’s nothing better than turning up the RELEASE-fader on an analog synth and let the waves spin round and round…

4.)
Extraterrestrian
I fondly remember my cooperation with TRAUM records chief Riley Reinhold. At the beginning of the 2000s they revolutionized the worldwide club scene by adding that special dreamy, trance-y element to each of their releases. Throughout my career I’ve met many label-A&Rs and most of them were absolutely incompetent, but Riley is probably THE A&R with the most strict and perfectionist vision! In a fair and always professional and passionate way he pushed me and motivated me to aim for the next musical level. And so we released „Extraterrestrian“ together in 2005 and it became a huge Ibiza summer hit.

5.)
Hypnoconsole
This is the first ever released Remute song! For several years I’ve actually made music for myself without any professional intent. Occasionally I posted my tunes on internet-forums like „technoforum.de“. And so „Hypnoconsole“ got discovered there in 2002 by Zombie Nation, who had a big hit with his „Kernkraft 400“ song. He offered me my first record deal. I’ve learned so much about the music industry and it was the best possible starting point for my long-spanning Remute career. Thank you Zombie – no Remute without you!

6.)
5000 Euro
After several 12“-vinyl records I’v released my first, self-titled, Remute album in 2006 via Hamburg’s cult label Ladomat 2000. The label-A&R Xenia Beliayeva approached me at a party and asked me if I’m into an album. I was stunned and just said something like: „Uhmm, sure!“. And so we compiled my debut album which actually is a pretty wild mix without any real concept behind it. Basically my first Remute audio business card. Xenia „was not sure“ about „5000 Euro“ telling me that it’s „probably too weird“. Luckily I insisted on it and so it became the most well-known hit of my debut album. Weird is cool.

7.)
Democratic Disco
From 2011 till 2017 I ran a quite ambitious project:
I released a new song every week – sampling the hottest news headlines of the week.
Especially loved to sample political debates and speeches and throw them in the mix with disco-loops. „Democratic Disco“ is the most catchy tune of this era.

8.)
Red Eyes (Amigaaa Mix)
In 2019 I re-invented myself and turned into Remute 2.0.
I’ve been releasing my music for years on common formats like vinyl, CD or digital downloads. The music industry bored me to death and I had the feeling that I need to do something radically different! So I decided to put out the first ever techno album as a cartridge for Sega’s retro gameconsole Mega Drive / Genesis. „Technoptimistic“ was a huge success, magazines like Verge or Gizmodo raved about it and it united gamers and music fans worldwide! Here’s the leading track „Red Eyes“ – remixed on a Commodore Amiga homecomputer. :)

9.)
Ouahahaha
Taken from my second album „Grand Glam“ which was released in 2009, „Ouahahaha“ was a massive success in Japan. It’s a pretty wild tune which sounds like a bike chase scene in Akira. So yeah, I get the Japan connection. It was so popular that it even got re-released by famous japanese label Carizma in 2014 and received a cool remix by Ryoh Mitomi.

10.)
Play The Game (feat. Lil’ Fang)
Always felt a strong connection to Japan.
Love videogames, love anime, love japanese culture! When I toured Japan for the first time in 2015 I got in touch with the huge record company Avex and singer Lil’ Fang. We wrote „Play The Game“ together and it is still one of the most catchy and successful Remute songs of all time with irresistible lyrics in japanese and english. どうもありがとう

11.)
Lampuca For Me
Now this is a weird one. Released in 2009 „Lampuca For Me“ was just a kind of filler because there was space left on a 12“ vinyl release. I turned on my Korg ES-1 sampler and recorded this within 10 minutes in one take! Once released it was picked up and power-played by Djs like Erol Alkan or Boys Noize and set dancefloors and radio stations like BBC on fire! Lesson learned: hit the record button, capture the raw energy, never overthink!

12.)
5000 Euro (DJ Hundefriedhof RMX)
DJ Hundefriedhof is the hottest techno producer in Germany right now. He founded the band Hgich.t and is also doing solo-stuff now. Calling his stuff mad and rad is an understatement. It’s uber mad and rad and beyond genius! After experiencing one of his energetic live gigs in Hamburg I asked him if he wants to remix „5000 Euro“. I am super happy that he was into it and this remix is just amazing.

2.
