Human Barbie’s debut album ‘Get a Life’ is an exploration of personal heartbreak, seen through the lens of psychedelic pop.

Fueled by the disintegration of a treasured scene of musical friends and collaborators in LA, Leopold took the lessons he learned from veteran producer Gus Seyffert (Beck, The Black Keys, Bedouine), and turned his focus inward.

Recording in his apartment on a vintage 16-track tape machine, he spent months translating the experience into a deeply personal musical statement.

‘Get a Life’ was captured and mixed with 100% analog effects, reverb, and performance techniques; the entire process was painstaking and deliberate, and the resulting album is a lyrical artifact of creative introspection.
