Thematically, NEON VOID is Sumo Cyco’s most ambitious and deliberate work yet. Written during a period of deep personal and global unrest, the album explores the maze of modern life where screens mediate our relationships, time feels weaponized, and survival is often about pushing through the noise to find your center. Tracks move between high-energy chaos and quiet resilience, reflecting the extremes of the human experience in a fractured world.
The 12 tracks aren’t just an album; they’re a fierce explosion of raw emotion, fire, and defiant hope forged in the crucible of struggle. From the first thunderous chord to the last lingering echo, this record seethes with a visceral intensity that grabs you by the throat and refuses to let go. Every riff is sharpened to a blade’s edge, every vocal line led by Skye drips with unfiltered feeling, and every beat pulses like a heartbeat racing toward the edge.
Track List
- Shivers
Right before everything changes, there’s a moment when you’re frozen by fear yet still drawn toward what’s coming next.
- Asteroid
Sometimes the price of making an impact is destruction of everything that came before.
- Flies
They say the strongest survive; keep up or you'll be dropping like flies!
- Villains
We could be the Villain in someone else's story.
- Pain/Love
No pleasure without pain, no love without hate. It’s about embracing the bad that’s inevitable and challenging the world to give me the best and worst it has to offer.
- Stronger Now
My ultimate wish is that when people hear it they can find strength in the vulnerability.
- Clockwork
How much is left? Where did it go? I found myself at odds with this inevitable force. Then, I embraced it’s wrath, it’s impending doom and stuck my middle finger in the air, “Do your worst!”
- Boring
This song is about the challenge to keep the adventure going in the face of routine and the predictable.
- Voices
This song is about the evil twin inside us all. The terrifying part of it all is that if you let the inner voice of doubt control you, they could be the last one standing.
- Nobody Home
Nobody Home is a metaphor for someone’s brain dissociating. I wrote thinking about when you can’t quite get through to someone or read them fully.
- Abandon All Ships
It’s about the sinking feeling when you’re headed in the wrong direction and you can see the car crash coming in slow-motion.
- Until Today
We all must decide each day how we want to show up in the world. This song is about crossing a threshold. Making a decision, taking a new step.
